The Wind in the Willows


Our first Core Knowledge Domain is Classic Tales.    We began reading about Mole, Rat, Toad, Badger, and Otter in The Wind in the Willows today!    During the next few weeks, be sure to ask your student about all the adventures our characters see and experience along the River Bank!     We will discuss many vocabulary words associated with this domain.   Some words your student should know by the end of this domain are:

We will also talk about two Core Knowledge “Sayings and Phrases”:  “One rotten apple spoils the whole barrel” and “Let bygones be bygones”.      Over the course of this domain, ask your student about these vocabulary words, our Core Knowledge phrases, and the themes we will see in our story.    Also, tell them to share some of their favorite parts of this classic tale with you!
