Weekly Announcements 11/3/17

Hello Parents,
I hope everyone had a great week!  So many of you have been coming for lunch.  I wanted to thank you and let you know that I really appreciate it!  We have had grandmas, grandpas, moms, and dads.  You have all done a great job and the kids love seeing new faces and introducing themselves.  Please keep coming and if you haven’t been in yet, consider signing up for a day.
Here are some updates and important information:
-Parent/Teacher Conferences in the classroom are November 8th and 9th. These will both be early release days (11:45 dismissal).  Lunch will be at 11:00 on those days.  November 10th is Veteran’s Day.  There is no school for students.

Here is an overview of what we will learn this upcoming (short) week:
Math: We will order numbers in descending order (10-1). We will review on Wednesday and assess on Thursday. We will also make a turkey craft on ordering numbers.
Domain (Listening and Learning): We will continue our domain on plants. The students will hear more read alouds this week: “Evergreen Trees”, “Plants and People”, and “George Washington Carver”. We will focus on the words: evergreen, deciduous, bouquets, and crops.  Our Domain Assessment is the following Monday, November 13.
Skills: We will continue to review all sounds learned.  We will blend all these sounds to form words by using our pocket charts and playing games. The students will also hear a sound and write the sound down (dictation).
Have a wonderful weekend!
