Weekly Update

Hello Parents!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you AMAZING moms! We hope you enjoy your weekend and have a restful Sunday full of love!

Here are some updates and important information:

-The End of the Year Field Trip from is due MONDAY.  This is a sibling free field trip; Bumper Jumpers will be closed to the public during our trip.  Thank you for your understanding!

-Please be mindful of our uniform policy. We have had a lot of students not in uniform with their colorful socks.

-We are finished with RED Reading Bags!

-We would like to do a kindergarten gift for wonderful Mrs. Funderburg. If you are willing to participate, we will be collecting various gift cards to present to Mrs. Funderburg at the Kindergarten Assembly May 30th.  A few of her favorite places to shop are:  Target, Kohles, Lowes Food, Gas, or Visa.

Here is an overview of what we will learn this week:

Math: Students will be assessed on their knowledge of addition and subtraction facts: 3+2=5; 5-3=2; 5-2=3.  They will also practice count to 100 by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s.

Domain (Listening and Learning):   We will continue Domain 12, Presidents and American Symbols.  Students will learn about the George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln.  They will use the vocabulary: clever, convince, independence, serious, expert.

Skills: The students will continue to practice Tricky Words: the, a, one, from, of, was, when, word, why, where, no, I, which, once, so, what, said, says. We will continue to learn upper case letters and read from ‘Zack and Ann’ readers while completing comprehension questions from the stories. Students will be assessed on uppercase letters and tricky words.

Writing Workshop: Students will use their knowledge of nouns, verbs, and sentences to complete simple writing samples.  They will also practice putting together mixed up words to create a sentence.
